  We are pleased that sales of this map have been strong enough to justify an updating and re-issue in a relatively short time period. There aren't a lot of changes, which is good because it indicates that the map must be reasonably accurate. This version features two excellent inset maps - one of Tashkent, the other of Samarkand. Both cities evoke images of fabled spice transfer stops on the ancient Silk Highway that joined Europe and Asia for a thousand years, and even though both cities are thoroughly modern now, part of Temur's Palace remains in Samarkand. Although this is a new edition, we have used the same cover picture. Printed on paper, double-sided.
